JCIN Amb. Unwana Bright Ekong is the 2026 President of JCI Abuja Unity, a dynamic young leader with a strong background in cybersecurity, information technology, and organizational leadership. She is a results-driven professional with extensive experience in risk assessment, information security governance, data protection, and operations management, bringing a unique blend of technical expertise and people-centered leadership to her role.
My Story
She holds a Master of Science (MSc.) in Management of Information Technology from the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, and a Bachelor of Technology (BTech.) in Library and Information Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna. Her professional journey spans roles in business development, operations management, cybersecurity consulting, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), and training coordination, with hands-on experience across the private sector, government institutions, and consulting firms.
A certified cybersecurity and information security professional, she holds multiple globally recognized certifications, including ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor**, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC),and Professional Scrum Master (PSM),among others. She is also a proud ,JCI Nigeria Ambassador and an active volunteer with a long history of 11yrs service within JCI, having led and supported several community development, environmental, education, and health initiatives.
As President, JCIN Amb. Unwana Bright Ekong is committed to strengthening leadership capacity, deepening community impact, empowering members, and sustaining systems that will ensure long-term growth and continuity for JCI Abuja Unity.
